Seventeen years ago we created the manifesto of Osteria Sa Domu Sarda: a statement on the essence and the purpose of our restaurant.
We respect and follow the tenets of traditional Sardinian cuisine. Despite being an island, our region is not focused entirely on the sea, nor it is made only of fishermen, considering the wary relationship between Sardinian people and the sea.
In fact, Sardinian cuisine is shaped mainly by farmers and shepherds: meat, flavourful cheeses, an assortment of ancient flour and bread, desserts made with cheese, almonds, and honey, wines and liqueurs that remind of the scents of the Mediterranean shrubs.
The hallmark dishes of our restaurant belong to the ancient tradition handed down from the island elders through their stories. Every day, we strive to preserve recipes from our memories, our farming culture, and our identity in simple and yet refined meals. Our cuisine becomes a means to convey what we really care about: authenticity and emotion.
The Wine Cellar
The main purpose of our sommelier is to evolve and enhance the selection of wine that we have to offer, by working with local small wineries and the winemakers who contribute daily by handing down traditions and values, aiming at the cultural and economic development of Sardinia.
